Honey I Forgot The Matches Ndash Four Easy Ways To Use Camping Supply Lists
Honey I Forgot the Matches ndash; Four Easy Ways to Use Camping Supply Lists
Before your next camping trip make sure that you ‘forget proof’ the trip by having a great camping supply list in hand.
With the web there’s no excuse to not use a great camping supplies checklist to speed your camping packing and ensure enjoyment. Having a great camp packing checklist makes your preparation almost effortless and makes sure there’s no disastrous I forgot; item such as leaving the sleeping bags or hiking boots at home.
First start off with a great list. You can Google on ‘camping supply list’ ‘camping supplies’ ‘camping lists’ or ‘camping packing list’ and find several excellent lists or see the end of this article for a link to my favorite free printable camping list. Find one you like and print it out. Use it religiously.
Second add to the list. Sit down a week ahead of time and go through the list. If you picked a great list it’ll be very complete. But still ask yourself is there anything missing from the list? We all have our personal quirks and needs especially when it comes to packing. Add these items to the list.
Third do a mental inventory check to find what items you need that you are missing. Keep your stocks inventory up to where it should be. The goal here is to create your shopping list a week before the trip whether by air travel or land so you can do the shopping at a convenient time and at a low cost supply store. Better yet than the mental inventory trick go to the garage and assemble all the items themselves ndash; yes start packing a week ahead of time organizing your materials into boxes crates and piles that match the list’s categories. This is a great way to both find what you’re missing and to jump start the packing.
Fourth improve the camping list by bringing the checklist with you on the trip and make notations on what you wished you brought as well as what you can leave behind next time. Remember packing light is as important as packing completely.
That’s all there is to it ndash; go find your packing list now print it out and enjoy the great outdoors!

Hiking And Preparations – Take A Hike!
Most of us spend our lives in the urban man made world. In our day to day busy schedule sometimes even forget about the cosmic vibrant natural world you can enjoy directly if you go hiking. Some of us may be lucky enough to be close to the nature that we can cover relatively short distance to step backwards and experience the natural world before the human hand changed it.
You can decide to either rough it out on your own or go on planned hiking expeditions with guides particularly in unfamiliar territory it is always better to take some one along who is familiar with the area understands the local wild life and can safely take you back to civilization irrespective to the level of your expertise or lack of it. Are you comfortable with the hiking terrain? Or you want to be adventurous and explore unknown terrain. These things are essential and your security depends on being alert.
You can go on short hikes starting and ending at your vehicle and end your day in your own comfortable bed. Hiking can also be difficult extended for a couple of days needing camping and eating on track. Such type of hikes needs proper planning and you need to be harshly aware of your capabilities.
Hiking Partners:
Remember never be over adventurous and plan a wide ranging hikes alone. Whether short familiar hikes or extensive hikes it is very vital to have a partner a mobile phone and that a dependable individual is aware of your route knows your check in timing is aware of the exact track you intend hiking so that in case of an exigency you can be contacted.
Advance Planning:
Normally experienced hikers keep a check list and stick to it carefully. In fact it is a good idea to keep hiking list notes for future reference when planning hikes. So that you do not repeat your mistakes and can also refresh your memory.
Permit for hiking:
In case you are planning a hike in part of the restricted area it is better to check with the agency managing the tracks you will be using. In case permit is needed it is imperative that you apply well in advance.
Other enquiries to make:
* What are the climatic conditions? Is there any specific equipment you need? Are there any seasonal considerations you need to be aware of?
* Decide who will bring what to avoid duplication of two people carrying same gear
* You and your partner can share the equipment like army knife stove tent etc. You don’t need these things and also things like a first aid kit and water filter etc. in duplicate so this way you can shed some weight.
*In case you have not been on hiking trip it’s a good idea to go for a few walks wearing your boots. It’ll help you break your feet and avoid blisters on the track.
